Get to know me

Hey gorgeous souls! I’m Jessie, your friend in New York City, where dreams are made and challenges are conquered. From a shy Georgia peach, I’ve embarked on a journey of self-discovery and growth that led me to strut the runways during New York Fashion Week.

Growing up, I battled with extreme shyness and grappled with social anxiety, a challenge that followed me into adulthood. But I refused to let it define me. That’s why, in my 20s, I made the bold decision to move to the concrete jungle of New York City, alone, to pursue my dream of becoming a model. It was my way of saying “F You” to that diagnosis.

Now, as a signed model and advocate for mental health and self-discovery, I’m here to share the raw and real lessons I’ve learned along the way. Whether it’s overcoming social anxiety, mastering financial literacy, or delving into the latest beauty trends, I’ve got your back.

Let’s build a community of fierce, empowered women together. So, whether you’re feeling like a boss babe or struggling to find your strength, know that you’re welcome here. Let’s heal, grow, and slay together!

Why make a blog?

So why did I create a blog in the first place? Great question. Well… I’ve debated creating this blog for a few years now. I started my self-development journey around the age of 21. I felt lost and confused about what I should be doing with my life, who I was, or how I was ever going to achieve anything great. I battled extreme shyness, insecurity, and immaturity. I turned to journaling and dove into everything self-help, purchasing every self-improvement book that popped up on my For You page and devouring hours of podcasts revealing everything I was doing wrong and how to fix it.

I learned a lot about myself and wanted to share what I was learning with anyone out there who felt as lost as I did (and still do). But then I burnt out. My perfectionism took over, and all that ‘self-improvement’ started to do more harm than good. I procrastinated on large projects, like this blog, coming up with every excuse in the book. “I’m not a good writer.” “I’m not good enough or smart enough to post my opinions and advice.” “People won’t want to work with me if I’m too vulnerable online.” The list goes on.

I allowed that negative voice in my head to hold me back for years until I lost everything… we’ll save that story for another time. Today I’ve learned how quickly you can lose what you have. Time is fleeting. We don’t have enough of it to constantly worry instead of taking action. I’m grateful that I’m alive, and with this life, I want to help as many people from my own life experiences as possible. So, this blog was finally born. It’s not all serious though.

I’ll be sharing all my interests from beauty and fashion to psychology and faith. I post once a week and would love your involvement. Tell me what you love, what you hate, or any requests. I hope to see you in the comments.
